The Admonter Kogel is part of the Natura 2000 protected area "Grazer Bergland" and is therefore one of the most ecologically valuable recreational areas around Graz. The Weinzödl climbing garden was developed in the 1990s and has been continuously expanded since then. Today, the area comprises around 80 routes on grippy dolomite rock. The route lengths range from 10 to 30 meters, and the difficulty levels range from 3 to 8The sunny south face ensures that the climbing spot can be visited almost all year round – and the view of the valley is reward enough anyway.
What makes the Admonter Kogel and the climbing garden so special is the combination of easy hiking destination and sporting challenge – without having to leave Graz.
