The Andritz origin is one of the most impressive Karst springs in the Graz Uplands. With an average flow of 210 liters per second, crystal-clear water emerges from the mountain massif and feeds the Andritzbach stream. The importance of this spring has been known for centuries—it was even surrounded by a protective wall in the 16th century.
This historic site still stands today and lends the place an almost monastic atmosphere. Nearby, a simple metal cross on moss-covered rocks recalls the spiritual connection of the people to this place. The original site was also the destination of a visit by Emperor Franz II. – a sign of his rank at that time.
Today the place is protected as a natural monument and is lovingly maintained by the Jakob Lorber Society This also lends the place a spiritual dimension. It is a place of tranquility, ideal for pausing and taking a deep breath.

Since the source is on Private property access is only by appointment possible. Please contact the Jakob Lorber Society in advance, which offers guided tours and access upon request.
The best way to combine your visit is with a hike or bike ride along the Stattegg cycle path – this will turn your trip into a true nature experience.
And be sure to bring your camera. The place may be small, but every detail—from the metal cross to the reflective surface of the water—is a quiet subject with a powerful impact.
