The Rieshang is part of the ancient trails that once connected the Graz Basin with Eastern Styria. If you follow the Riesstraße east, you'll find small country paths leading upwards between farms and meadows. One of the most beautiful trails starts not far from the Riesstraße / Kainbachstraße intersection and winds its way uphill through orchards. There's no sign at the highest point – but there's a view that will make you forget you're still in the city.
