Ruperti Church Hohenrain: modern sacred architecture with artistic flair on the outskirts of Graz

Ruperti Church was first documented in the 14th century, making it one of the oldest churches in the Graz area. Originally built as a chapel for the rural population, it was remodeled in the Baroque style in the 17th century, preserving many Gothic elements. Particularly noteworthy is the striking choir tower with its pointed roof, which makes the church visible from afar.

Inside, you'll find a simple, almost meditative spatial effect and lovingly restored details. The Baroque high altar depicts Saint Rupert, the patron saint of Salzburg, to whom the church is dedicated.
