A look back - the history of Hitzendorf

The market town of Hitzendorf can look back on a long agricultural tradition and was, from an early stage, a center of regional exchange, crafts, and rural life. Many of today's districts—including Niederberg, Altenberg, Mayersdorf, and the famous Österreich—have evolved over time and continue to shape the region's rural lifestyle.

Today, Hitzendorf is a popular excursion destination and local recreation area with a focus on nature, relaxation, and regional quality. The combination of urban proximity and rural authenticity makes the place particularly attractive – for day visitors as well as for vacationers interested in the authentic Styrian way of life.
