Raaba-Grambach is located southeast of Graz and is one of the fastest-growing municipalities in the surrounding area. Thanks to its location between nature and the city, modern architecture, and green retreats in the residential area, the market town has developed into a popular residential, business, and leisure location in recent years.

Raaba-Grambach is known, among other things, for the Life Park 2000, a public park with ponds, paths and shady areas. The Bohemian Villa, an architectural gem of late Art Nouveau, as well as the modern office ensemble around the Raiffeisen Tower characterise the image of the community.

Cultural events, sculptures in public spaces, several chapels and the historic Spielerhof Castle offer additional starting points for a walk through a community in which past and present complement each other well.

Raaba and Grambach were first documented in 1265 and belonged to various lordships, such as Liebenau, Messendorf-Hintenfeld, and Vasoldsberg, until the 19th century. In 1850, both were established as independent local communities.

During the Nazi era, they were incorporated into the Reichsgau of Styria, and after World War II, they belonged to the British occupation zone. Due to its convenient location, Raaba became an attractive location for businesses and residential developments from the 1970s onwards.

In 2000, Raaba was elevated to market town status. As part of the 2015 municipal structural reform, it merged with Grambach to form the current market town of Raaba-Grambach. Today, the town stands for future-oriented development, a strong economy, and a high quality of life in the vicinity of Graz.
