The municipality Weinitzen lies to the north-east of Graz, nestled in the gentle foothills of the Graz highlands and just a few kilometres from the Schöckl. Weinitzen was founded in 1952 as a merger of several districts in the course of the Styrian amalgamation of municipalities. However, the region had already been settled centuries earlier, as can be seen from the large number of historic farms and field names.

In the second half of the 20th century, the agricultural community increasingly developed into a popular residential area with a high quality of life - particularly due to its altitude, good accessibility and peaceful surroundings.

Today, Weinitzen combines active enjoyment of nature with a near-natural settlement structure - a place where movement, tranquillity and regionality go hand in hand.
